Primary at Lighthouse provides personalised, evidence-based teaching and learning programs to enable your child to acquire foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
Through small class sizes, your child’s individual potential is nurtured. All primary students have personal learning goals in reading, writing and numeracy and progress is tracked regularly throughout the year.
English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) programs are provided by caring and passionate educators who consider each child’s individual needs and differences. All students have 24/7 access to online learning programs including Reading Eggs and Mathletics.
Lighthouse offers a Christ-centred education with Biblical foundations woven through the curriculum. A love for God is nurtured through weekly Bible lessons, praise and worship and Chapel services.
Specialist teachers provide additional learning experiences in the Arts and Choir. Each year, every student at Lighthouse has two on stage experiences; participation in the Rockhampton Eisteddfod and in a musical production.
All students participate in a weekly HPE lesson and a Learn to Swim program. Individual and team sporting opportunities are provided for upper primary students in soccer, netball, hockey, basketball, track and field and cross country.
