Social and Emotional Development

Our students learn to interact with peers in a calm, caring and supportive environment. Staff prioritise positive relationships with students and families.

Lighthouse Christian School has adopted 1 Timothy 4:12 as our school verse.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

This, along with our values of Respect for God, Respect for Others and Respect for Self, underpin student social and emotional development in each phase of school life.

Lighthouse prioritises the building and maintaining of positive and caring relationships between staff, students and parents ensuring a calm, caring and supportive environment conducive to teaching and learning.

Lighthouse teachers and staff embrace practices to ensure learning, social and emotional needs of individual students, including high achievers, are monitored closely and classroom routines meet levels of readiness and need. Preventative and responsive programs are provided for students where barriers to learning and development emerge.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
